Antaeus Founded in 1991, it is a project of the famous Center Theatre Group. Founding artistic directors Dakin Matthews and Lillian Groag believe that a world-class classical theater troupe might emerge in a city driven by the television and film industry. They gathered a prominent team of 30 members to embark on the ambitious project. The team gets together every Monday night to read, study and rehearse great classical plays. After three decades and hundreds of readings, seminars, and productions, Antaeus has become a leader in the Los Angeles intimate theater community, building an impressive reputation.
